I love to create my stitched artwork in an almost 2D form, giving you the feeling you are transported right into the scene! I would love to exhibit and promote my artwork worldwide and to expand my subject matter for all to enjoy! I would like to share my experience and skills with others through workshops UK wide and abroad, ultimately giving me a full time income in a hobby I absolutely adore!
I am inspired by a range of things, from different aspects of nature, i.e. country lanes, coastal scenes, animals, idyllic chocolate box cottages and places I have visited, to other inspiring artists visions of their own interpretation of art, such as the very talented Janine Heschl and Carol Naylor!
I refer to my discipline as mixed media working with different fabrics. I often include paints for added depth and shading. I enjoy creating pieces that are at an angle, giving different perspectives - an almost 2 dimensional image, just like you would capture in photography. I especially like to focus on fine stitch details that you would never know from a distance are machine stitched. I love to give the viewer pictures you could almost imagine as though they were right there in the moment, either sitting among the sand dunes or walking past a beautiful whitewashed building in Greece!
